Terms of Service

Effective date: February 8, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the FeastTogether mobile application ("the App"), operated by Donncha Carroll ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use FeastTogether. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

2. Your Account

• You sign in using Apple's Sign in with Apple service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Apple ID.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen in the App.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Post content that is offensive, defamatory, or infringes on intellectual property rights
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App's systems or other users' accounts
• Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the App
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's infrastructure

4. Your Content

• You retain ownership of content you create (meals, recipes, messages, photos).
• By posting content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, display, and transmit that content as needed to operate the App (e.g., showing your meal details to invited guests).
• You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share any content you post, including recipes and photos.

5. Subscriptions and Purchases

FeastTogether may offer optional premium subscriptions through Apple's In-App Purchase system.

• Payment is processed by Apple. We do not collect or store payment information.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings.
• Refunds are handled by Apple per their refund policy.

6. AI Recipe Parsing

The App uses artificial intelligence (Anthropic's Claude) to parse recipe text from photos and URLs. This feature is provided "as is" — we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or safety of AI-parsed recipes. Always review parsed recipes before use, especially regarding ingredients, quantities, cooking temperatures, and allergen information.

7. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services including:

• Apple Sign in with Apple — governed by Apple's terms
• Google Firebase — for data storage and notifications
• Anthropic Claude API — for recipe parsing

We are not responsible for the availability or practices of these third-party services.

8. Intellectual Property

The App, its design, code, and branding are owned by Donncha Carroll. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer the App.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
• Any content (including AI-parsed recipes) is accurate or complete
• The App will meet your specific requirements

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Donncha Carroll shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or personal injury, arising from your use of the App.

In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50 USD, whichever is greater.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Donncha Carroll from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.

12. Termination

• You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time.
• We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we reasonably believe is harmful to other users or the App.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the state where the operator resides, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App.
